Aisha Zannah is an activist and journalist from Maiduguri, Nigeria, who is recognized for advocating gender equality, education, and conflict resolution. She began activism at age eight and won the European Union Gender Equality competition in 2008. Aisha later received the Mangrove Action Project award for her efforts in combating climate change and was nominated for the 2016 KidsRights Peace Prize. She is globally recognized, having presented at the United Nations' "Voices for Children" initiative in 2022 and spoken at TEDx Shehuri on overcoming imposter syndrome. In 2023, Aisha won the UN Women/UNDP Award for Grassroots and Civil Society Excellence. Her work continues to inspire change and progress in communities worldwide.
